Born on July 25, 1967 in Newton, Massachusetts, Matt LeBlanc was
not at all interested in acting. He followed his passion for motorcycles. At age eight, he received his first motorcycle.
After participating in numerous amateur competitions, he began to think that motorcycling just might be his career. But his
mom worried for her son - just as many others would, and the dream of motorcycling was abruptly stopped. Matt began to train
in a career of carpentry and hoped to integrate it with many artistic components. After graduating from Newton North High School in 1985, he decided
to move to New York City. There he got into acting, but on a very small scale - commercials. By 1987, Matt had acquired parts
in national television commercials for products such as Levi's 501 Jeans, Coca-Cola, and Doritos. As well as those, he appeared
in a Heinz catsup spot that won the prominent Gold Lion Award at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival. LeBlanc's formal training as an actor began in 1988. Within only
a year, he had a starring role in the TV series "TV 101." That prompted him to move to Los Angeles. LeBlanc made his feature-film
debut in "Lookin' Italian." As luck would have it, that same year he landed a role on "Freinds," as Joey. In 1998, Matt got engaged to Melissa McKnight. As of right now,
Matt lives in Los Angeles with his dog, Lady, who was purchased from a pound for $40. Some of Matt's hobbies include parachute
jumping, car racing, and landscape photography. Matt LeBlanc Fun Facts "How you doin'?" Joey |
